Choosing the Right Resolution for Large-Format Prints

Choosing the Right Resolution for Large-Format Prints

DPI vs. Pixels (Simple Math)
Aim for ~300 DPI at final size; 240 DPI minimum for big walls.

Quick Pixel Targets
16×24 → ~4800×7200 px • 20×30 → ~6000×9000 px • 24×36 → ~7200×10800 px (300 DPI).

Smart Upscaling
Use high-quality resampling only when needed; avoid plastic-looking noise reduction.

Viewing Distance Reality
Bigger prints are seen farther away—slightly lower DPI still looks great.
